My email is here. Ask me any questions you have about Inheritance (including theories), but any questions about formatting the website may go unanswered as I'm not good with any templates/pictures and am not an administrator. They are here. Bureaucrats can be located here.

Re: editor help Edit

I've been trying to do a Template:Infobox Military Conflict, but it won't show up, could you do what you can to fix it? Therequiembellishere 05:24, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

The template has not yet been made. I will try my best to look into it sometime later today. :) GHe (Talk) 16:23, 13 October 2006 (UTC)
The template is now finished. :) GHe (Talk) 20:11, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

Thank you very much! Therequiembellishere 02:38, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

No problem. :) GHe (Talk) 02:40, 14 October 2006 (UTC)
Oh, yeah sorry, it's a habit I have. I do it on all my assignments and on the original wikpedia's pages, and I'm always reprimanded. Therequiembellishere 02:49, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

Re: writing style Edit

Shouldn't we use Standard English spellings, as The Inheritance Trilogy is not exclusively sold in countries that use American English? Therequiembellishere 04:19, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

Personally, I prefer to use the British/Canadian spelling, but since the books were written/created in the U.S., it would probably be better to use the American spellings. (Also see this discussion.) GHe (Talk) 04:27, 14 October 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, I'm a bit of an anglophile too. I'll try to use American spellings, but no promises. Therequiembellishere 04:30, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

Userboxes Edit

Currently, we only have a limited number of userboxes, so if you want to add some and use them, that would be great. :) GHe (Talk) 04:41, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

Hmmm. Perhaps try using the basic coding of other userboxes and change the wording and/or picture? Anyway, I g2g. I'll be back later/tomorrow. GHe (Talk) 04:53, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

I have tried to provide an explanation for why the Twins are listed as both Imperial and Rebel Characters, but the footnotes wont appear, suggestions? Therequiembellishere 22:05, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

Try inserting <ref>comment...</ref> right after the name and putting {{ref}} at the end of the page under the heading "Notes" or something of a similar nature. GHe (Talk) 22:25, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

Inheriwiki Chat Edit

There's an upcoming chat on November 24th at ~23:00 UTC and I'm wondering if you'll be able to join us. You could either use a chat client as described on Project:IRC, or use our custom gateway at (But a client would be better). We have a number of topics to cover, so hope to see you there. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to leave a message on my talk page. :) GHe (Talk) 02:42, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

Do I need any specific plug-ins or stuff like that?Therequiembellishere 05:00, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
For the gateway, no. If you want, you can test it now. :) GHe (Talk) 05:02, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
If I jsut click the link that will probably appear on the CUrrent Events page, will I get to it? And is that 23:00 Eastern Time?Therequiembellishere 05:22, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
You can click on the link to the gateway (which appears on Nov. 16th in the calendar). And it's 23:00 UTC, so it's 6:00 PM EST. GHe (Talk) 17:05, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

Toark/Torak River Edit

Are you sure it's not Toark River? (Google seems to suggest it's that, and an article already exists there.) GHe (Talk) 03:19, 20 March 2007 (UTC)

Bungling Edit

I am truly very sorry for causing such anger. I am fully responsible and should have acted in a more civil manner. I was not, however, pleased with the message I received about being "damaging". Additionally, I was not too ashamed to sign my comments; I did not know how. I really know nothing about the "IW Style" or however it goes. So, overall, I was really rather bungling (hence the post's title). As to my comment about it being outrageous, I have no idea how that is grammatically incorrect. I write as I speak, and when mad, I often shout out foreign words. Yes, extremely vain, I know. Now, I am not trying to get on your good side or anything, but I am not as nasty as I made it sound. As to the subject of our disagreement, this is how I feel. I am not a fan of Mr. Paolini's writing style. That is a matter of opinion. However, his copying is like nothing I have ever seen. Many names come directly from Lord of the Rings or from other books in Tolkien's legendarium (or in some cases a letter is added or dropped). As to your comment about Lewis, Carroll, and Rowling. Personally, I have never found direct copies of Tolkien names in any of their works. If there are these copies, they must certainly not be to the extent of Mr. Paolini. (And if you are referencing Lewis Carroll, it would have been quite impossible for him to copy Tolkien, for he died when Tolkien was six. That might not be the case since you said "Carrol", so it might be some author I don't know.) You also said that I was biased to assume that Paolini had copied from Tolkien, yet in your second post, you said that you realize that Paolini copied from Tolkien. Confusing. Secondly, as an amateur linguist, Mr. Paolini's language makes me sick. He obviously has no knowledge of how languages work. That is all I shall say on that subject. Another point, which is confusing, is your statement there no author has anything truly original. Yet in your second post, you say that many things in Mr. Paolini's stories are original. My point in saying where did the deriving start is that it was not impossible for someone back in ancient times (whether Greek, as you say, or even farther back to the Sumerians and Egyptians) to come up with an original idea. Why should it be impossible now? There are so many possibilities. I am not saying there can't be a war in the book because there has been a war in another book. I am not saying there can't be humans because there are humans in other books. What I am saying, is when you make names, don't directly copy from someone else. When you make a plot, don't have it be almost identical to Star Wars with some tweaking here and there. Lastly, I would like to say that Tolkien indeed was influenced by Nordic folklore, yet he had good reason. The purpose was to create a special network of tales for the Anglo-Saxon people whom he loved (as you probably well know, he was professor of Anglo-Saxon). His tales began as being set in our earth. In the Books of Lost Tales, he mentions Rome and Ninevah. An Anglo-Saxon actually comes to visit the elves. It was supposed to be a special mythology for the English. Paolini, on the other hand, has his world completely separate from Earth and therefore should make a distinction. I certainly hope I have not aroused any more anger.
