I'd like to use a bot on Inheriwiki. For that I need the community's approval.
The following jobs would be much easier using a bot:
- Updating links (there are still many redirected links, some misspelled and others left from pagemoves, see for example Special:WhatLinksHere/Eragon Bromsson or Special:WhatLinksHere/Arya)
- Correcting misspelled names (I already corrected a lot of accent characters manually, but there are still some left)
- Categorization (especially adding categories to the huge amount of files is really annoying)
- Maybe more, please tell me your ideas...
I just tested replacing some links, it works fine. I haven't much experience with wikibots yet, but I think this can't be too complicated. And in case I should realize that this was over my head, I would rather give it up than mess up pages.
I'm ready go get started. What do you think?
Further I'd like to flag the user as a bot, to keep the list of recent edits clear. It will still be possible to see the bot's edits by using the filter fuction. Does anybody have a problem with that?
