The Gift of Knowledge is the 68th chapter of Inheritance. It takes the point of view of Eragon.

SummaryEdit

Eragon and Murtagh begin to fight. After Murtagh nearly lands a killing blow on Eragon, Galbatorix stops him with magic. They fight for what seems like hours, but finally Eragon bests him. Murtagh uses the Name of Names to strip Galbatorix of his wards, and Eragon uses the semi-passive magic of the dragons to make Galbatorix comprehend the hurt he has caused to everyone. Overcome by emotion, he kills himself in a nuclear explosion.
