Speculation[]

  • Orik's participation in the ceremony has led to fan speculation that he may have unintentionally submitted the dwarves and himself to the pact between the elves, the humans, and the dragons. He has also been the only dwarf in history to ride a dragon. Even more, the death of Hrothgar represents the downfall that was also seen with the dragons, the humans, and the elves - all races in the pact were effected when the other was hurt.
  • From the fact that he usually never ignores Saphira, and calls her by name, since the majority of the time he was with her, the reader may safely assume Orik has developed a close relationship with Saphira, unlike the many dwarves, who avoid her.

It says at the bottum of the page that Orik can not be a Dragon Rider, which is probably true, however, there is not offical data to back. Red Head Rider 21:41, 14 September 2006 (UTC)

I changed the wording a bit. Hopefully this fixes the problem. :) « Amina . skywalker (¿Hábleme?) 13:46, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

The official data is that dwarves aren't included in the elves magic that bonds someone to a dragon. --Incredisuper

Yes, but they could be made part of it. The humans were. 24.34.32.52 15:06, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

I actually think that Orik will be the next Dragon Rider, or at least a Dwarf. There has never been a Dwarf Dragon Rider before, so it would be "suprising" as CP said in one of his interviews, and the humans were added to the blood-oath, whats to say dwarves cant be too. This would help ease alot of tension between the dwarven clans that despise the Dragon Riders... Just my 2 cents ~mc_teo 21:14, November 23, 2009 (UTC)
