From Inheriwiki, the ever-growing Inheritance database
Is there really any proof of Book 4? Where is it mentioned? Is it mentioned anywhere? LethalReflex

- Hi. Yes, there is. See alagaesia.com, the Inheritance Cycle official page, and the press release about it at http://www.alagaesia.com/kvetha/paolini_announcement.pdf. --Dreyesbo- (talk) 19:09, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT:
At the last austin tx boook signing the author mentioned that the fourth book is already named and he will do a press release in due time. Also i think the vault of Souls/Hearts will be in the forest of living stone that orik shows Eragon. Paolini says oromis's sword has enoguh energy to move a mountain, he also says the same of Aren, broms ring. Could it be possible that those sources of energy will be used to clear the last of the mountain off to reach the vault? As to the last green egg, i think with all the hints in eldest and brisingr that the last rider will be Arya and the future ruler will be Nasauda. In Eragon, book 1, eragon has a dream when he has a fever that two people taller than everyone else board a ship with one man staying on shore crying and shouting with two dragons flying overhead. This is similar to when eragon dreams of arya in the book. i think that the green dragon and Saphira will be the only dragons to survive the fight between galbatorix and eragon. But it may also be possible that galbatorixes dragon becomes saphiras mate and that arya and eragon leaving the country together is true then maybe they are taking the green egg with them to keep it safe till it hatches. This book will be a thick conclussion to what we have heard and read so far. So keep reading its bound to get good :D

''''==Speculation==''''
- I think that Paolini should do a fifth book but as a prequel, it should feature Shruikan as the cover and should be named Empire because it will tell the events of Galbatorix's rise to power and there for the creation of the empire. It could end with the battle between Brom and Morzan and Brom claiming Zar'roc and Saphira's egg, maybe with an epilouge telling of the deal being struck to ferry the egg between the elves and the varden and the deal about the new rider being trained by Brom the the elves. It would also allow Paolini to explain morzan's and galbatorix's first dragons and Saphira 1 instead of squezing these facts into Brisingr or book 4. Another plausible title could be Uru'Baen.
From the page, because it is first person, and a theory from one person. If its that important and needed, someone can rewrite it in third person, and make it less personal.--67.32.187.45 22:14, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
I think that's a good idea. that would sum up that characher of Shruikann and Galby. Good thinking!204.185.136.143 18:15, 28 October 2008 (UTC)Annlayc
I think that in the blood oath celebration the dragons made him part loser which would account for his increase in strength speed and it would account for what the menoa tree wanted his eldunari response please
I also deleted a line
- Eragon's true name might be: Du brisingr sem garjzla du äfgarjzla.
because it is one person's idea on a name. And i'm sorry but it does not make sense to me 'the fire that light the (dark)'. It should be worded better, and in my opinion it was not a good contribution.
I think that there is tons more stuff that should be kept to a specultion page that I am amazed is still on the page. Come on people we need to step up here. Shurikan017 19:27, 13 May 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Eragon Leaving Alagaesia Forever??
What if Eragon changed and the former Eragon left Alagaesia forever? Ex.: the changing at the elvish celebration, completly-human Eragon no longer exists. Ex. (2): his true name changes. Response please no because the raza'ak cursed eragon after the blood-oath celebrations that he would leave forever.--Yoneli99 18:54, 26 December 2008 (UTC)anononymous--Yoneli99 18:54, 26 December 2008 (UTC) it should be added in the article that the raza'ac also cursed Eragon that he would leavealagaesia and never return . At the end of book a certain soldier says it (not trying to spoil book)
It should be noted that sense the Ra'zac aren't trained in Grammyre, Technically it shouldn't effect Eragon what-so-ever. The Ra'Zac was just angry and insulting Eragon
Actually, in Book 1, when eragon was getting his prophecy told by angela, she said that eragon will leave alagaesia forever, remember?
Think of the Meona tree's request. I am pretty sure the tree will ask him to leave. Maybe he will go in search of more dragons as mentioned in book 2?210.246.48.229 06:07, 25 April 2009 (UTC)
The mons tree did say to him leave after he asked what she wanted so it's a very high probability that it was her request.
[edit] Automated transfer of Problem Report #15646
The following message was left by Anonymous via PR #15646 on 2008-11-25 08:40:56 UTC
At the end of the page, it is not likely that Elva's rider is male, it is 100% certain. Murtagh reveals that in his battle at the end of book 2.
"* The seven words that Brom revealed to Eragon as he was dying. Bear in mind that Brom told Eragon what these words meant and also to use them "in great need"."
correct me if i'm wrong but i understood that the words Brom taught eragon were simply "i am a rider and a friend" (obviously in the ancient language) which he needed to say to arya when he first contacted her in her comatose state...
I would have to go against that because Brom had no idea Eragon would meet Arya. ALso what if Eragon had met the wrong people, I do not think Brom would tell Eragon to anounce himself as a rider to someone.
[edit] Gods
Unfortunately, this page is write-protected. I think that in the section Unresolved plot threads one should add that the existence/reality of Gods (see the appearance of Gûntera in Brisingr) is still unresolved. Gods seem to have some importance, and Eragon is even paying to Gûntera at one point ...
[edit] Eragon's true name
Someone wrote that Eragon's true name may be brisingr. THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE. Unless it is only part of his true name, it can't be brisingr. If it was, he would get all weird and stuff every time someone said it or cast the spell, or (as of now) mentioned his sword. I can see if it was part of it, but it can't be his true name.
I believe it ia a part of his name as well. If you recall, when Brom asked what Eragon said when he used magic the first time. In the first book. Eragon replied Brisingr and then shivered. The word made him feel alive like never before or something close to that. Anyway I believe that Brisingr is only a part of Eragon's True Name not whole of it. Otherwise Eragon would have realized it the moment he said it. Some effect would have occured. File:Zero Sign.jpg - Zero - Talk 16:53, 27 February 2009 (UTC)
Perhaps Brisingr is the start of Eragons true name, this would make the name of his sword even more fitting
I would agree with Brisingr, though I would have said Originaly that it is just plain old 'Eragon' in the ancient language or even JUST Eragon. On another idea, The first rider ever was called Eragon and what-ever his name was, Eragon's true name would have to be close to his.
[edit] Release Date?
Does anyone have a clue as to when the release date for Book 4 is going to be? I mean, since Eldest was released in 2005 and Brisingr was released in 2008, does that mean Book 4 will be released in 2012?
This book should come out quickly, They merely published Brisingr because Paolini's original copy was too long, so they split it in half, titled it Brisingr, and edited it. I trust that the editing shouldn't take too long and should come out very soon.
And another thing, does anyone think that it will be shorter than any other of the books? Just because there really isnt a lot to cover besides Galbatorixes death, the Rock of Kuthian and or Vault of Souls. And then the seiges.
R: On CP's main site, he states that the book is over 900 pages long and that he is editing it down. i am positive that the book will release 2010 maybe june july
[edit] Identity of the next rider
Important. Most likely (my opinion anyways), either Arya or Roran will become the next rider, correct? But if Roran becomes a rider, it would be wrong for him to stay with Katrina; their marriage would pose a serious moral issue. Because of this, I highly doubt that Paolini would make Roran a Rider due to the fact that he would also have to make Katrina somehow immortal to justify the marriage, and that is a little over-the-top.
Arya on the other hand...she would make a perfect Rider and it would only help to bring Eragon and Arya closer together as they would have yet another likeness.
Thoughts?
I would think that the new rider could be Katrina and Roran's child. I believe that because it sounds right to me, but that's just one opinion.
I think it should be Nasuada because that would make her immortal so she would not age and die when she gets together with Murtagh. (Thorn's Rider)
Techincally that quote could be referring to any woman (or man). Whoever it is that becomes the rider, will gain immortaility being linked to its dragon. Therefore even if it was Elaine or gertrude(using these as examples for purpose of argument, i don't believe this person will actually become a rider), they would gain immortality and Eragon could persue a relationship with them if he so wished. So you cannot base an assumption on that quote alone. --Mithrim
I think its a possibilty for karrtina to b the new rider. Mainly because we know its a woman that isnt new to the series, and of the dream eragon had in book one. The dream was of a man and woman on a boat, with 2 dragons above and someone on the shore screaming. I believe that the two on the boat were katrina and eragon, the dragons saphira and whoever the green one is, and roran on the beach screaming as he watches his wife sail away from him. What if the Green Dragon hatches for Galbatorix rather than the Varden, this would make a great plot twist and if Murtagh breaks his vows and joins the varden it allow Eragon and Murtagh to fight Galbatorix and the green dragon together. The 2 dragons flying overhead in Eragons dream may just be Thorn and Saphira
I am very sure it will NOT be nasuada as she has said herself that humans shouldnt be ruled by immortals.
Nick: I have different thoughts. Of course it isn't going to be Roran or Katrina. It is also not going to be Arya. She already said she would never be with him. I think it is going to be the teenager that was getting her fortune told. Solembum talked to Eragon and he was a Rider, and Angela only give fortunes to people that talk to Solembum, so maybe the teenage girl will get the green dragon. Eragon even said she didn't look too bad. Next, someone in one of the books said that it was a possibility that the riders were the cause of all the evil in Alagaesia. Maybe Eragon will realize this and that is what causes him and the new rider (possibly the teenage girl) to leave the country with her to search the other lands for more dragons.
that logic is also flawed because solembum also talked to eragons mother and she wasn't a rider. I believe that angela will play a large part of the 4rth book and the riders. she might even be a rider. She hinted that she is as old as the riders in brisingr and is also a prevailent caracter in all of the books.
As far as the new rider goes, I have no clue. However, I don't think it will be Arya (which as you say would just be so that she and Eragon can be together). Even though Eragon is immortal, he can be killed, just as Brom was. In fact, I think in the end he WILL be killed, and "leave Alagaesia" as fortold much more literally than most have inferred... this cycle is called inheritance, and I believe it's all just a prelude to the new rider's inheritance of his/her dragon and their tale. I do NOT think eragon will be killed as Angela foretold long life/live forever in his future. I mean, he is only in his late teens.
I dont think that angela ever was a rider but is as old as the riders because of her magic whatever type of magic that is im not sure
Just to throw in my two cents about Angela, I think that she is a half breed between Elf and Human. That is why she lived for so long and has magical abilities.
R: As for Eragon dieing and that is him leaving Alagaesia, I dont agree, because when he had his fortune read Angela said he had a very long life ahead of him. As for angela being as old as she is she claims in eldest I believe that her youthfull apperance is due to her having to eat her own herbs, she doesnt have any traits of an elf except for the long life. I also dont agree that nothing will transpire between Ayra and Eragon, it might still be very possible for Ayra to be the next rider, but I doubt it, my point is however, that CP has hinted at Ayra' feeling for Eragon in diffrent parts of Brisnger, and Angela' fortune says that the relationship he will have will end up either tradgic or epic, but for it to be either Eragon and Ayra have to eventualy hook up as you will, because an epic or tradgic relationship isnt a crush held by one person.
Well, I don't think the rider will be a girl. So far, all the riders we've heard of are guys. Brom, Eragon, Murtagh, etc, etc. If it is a girl then it would break the chain. I don't think it's Roran either, because then he would be forced to leave Katrina, and would end up killing everyone near him. Not a pretty sight. Or, maybe, it is a girl. If it is, then it would probably be Elva, because she already has traces of dragon magic on her. Let's all just wait another year and find out what will happen, even if you can't wait another year, and will end up going insane. -Flight of Dragons
my opinion, such as it is, is that the new rider will be an elf. when i think of the next dragon being green/emerald i always think of the elf fiolr, or lord fiolr, who would have let eragon borrow his sword tamerlein. shouldnt every rider have a sword the likes of their dragon? tamerlein is a dark green sword with an emerald adorned, and lord fiolr has family that were dragon riders. it seems to fit for me. -leafassassin
[edit] Eldunari?
Wait... that cover with the green dragon and title "Eldunari" is the real cover? CrystalYoshi 00:22, 17 February 2009 (UTC)
I think it is a hoax, Mr. Paolini's website has no mention of the release of the new cover or title NJZimmermann 01:36, 17 February 2009 (UTC)
- The cover will most likely be green with the green dragon on it (in fact, I think there's an official statement somewhere about that), but the most likely title for book 4 will be "Empire," as that is what Paolini was considering for the title of book 3 before it was clear that he had to split it into 2 books, hence the "Inheritance Trilogy" changing into the "Inheritance cycle"--Iner22 15:40, 17 February 2009 (UTC)
It is all just speculation. Because the other books all had Dragons on the covers, it could be safe to assume CP will do the same thing again. But the cover art here is just a Fan's idea of what it might look like. As for the title, there is no definate title from CP yet, and any title names that you may see here, or on any website, are again just speculation from fans. Mithrim 16:37, 17 February 2009 (UTC)
I think that the rock of kuithien is the place where wild dragons used to store there eldunari in the hardaac desert as glader mentions and eragon will be allowed in as his name is special the first rider was also eragon this satisfys solembums prediction
Shouldn't it be noted that it isn't the real cover? YOWUZA TALK 2 ME! 13:07, 23 May 2009 (UTC)
In august or something, 2009, it was stated that yes, there is a green dragon on the cover. Sapphire, ruby, emerald. Fits, doesn't it? A gem/metal/stone for every dragon? Shruikan is onyx, Gladr is gold, Saphira a sapphire, Thorn a ruby, and the new dragon an Emerald... -Flight of Dragons
[edit] Empire
I really think that the title of book 4 will be "Empire." All the titles have something to do with inheritance, right? In book one, Eragon inherited the name of the first rider, and with it the legacy of the dragon riders. Thus, his name, which is also the name of the book, is both a literal and a symbolic inheritance. In book 2, Eldest was a reference to Murtagh, who took Eragon's sword as his rightful inheritance, as he was Eragon's elder brother. Roran, who has always been like a brother to Eragon, was introduced as a main character in this book. He has inherited the responsibility of his entire village. Nasuada was also a main character in the book, and she has inherited the Varden. I also think Eldest refers to Glaedr, the oldest living dragon, and Orimis, the oldest living rider, who are passing their knowledge and legacy to Eragon and Saphira.
Now, given that these two books started with "E," I think it was likely that the final book was to start with an "E" as well. The fact that the third book is titled "Brisingr," I think, means that Paolini didn't want to give the book an inappropriate title simply to keep up the pattern. In "Brisingr," Eragon inherited the sword, "Brsingr," (not literally, but the fact that Rhunon made it for him at all was another symbol of him inheriting the riders' legacy. By some stretch of thought, it can be said that the Varden, Roran, and everyone fighting against Galbatorix have inherited the fire of war, or some such symbolism for why they fight.
This being said, I believe that the title of the third book was initially going to be "Empire," and thus the title will be transferred to the fourth book. If they defeat Galbatorix, then the Empire will be under the control of the Varden. It will be their responsibility to shape repair it and tend to it, to ensure the peacefulness and happiness of all citizens. Thus, they will inherit the empire.
It has been staded that book 4 will not be named empire
These are my thoughts. I also must recognize that "Eldunari" has a lot of potential as a title too. For one, Solombom's prediction of what was under the Menoa tree led to the forging of "Brisingr," which was a title. I think many people can agree that it is likely that Solombum's second prediction, regarding the vault of souls, refers to Eldunari. Also, Eldunari begins with an "E," and the existence of them is a revelation in the third book, which, after all, was going to be the final book. I think both titles have merit. "Empire," would really only apply to the end of the final book, whereas "Eldunari" would be present throughout. But the finality of "Empire" would also be appropriate to the last book in the cycle (though we'd be kidding ourselves if we thought that we'd never see Alegaesia again after the inheritance cycle).
[edit] Why so many bogus titles
My gosh I can't actually believe how many bad titles there are on the page. I mean most if not all the titles have nothing to do with it. "Galbtorix", he is in the book big deal, does that mean we can call the book Arya just because she is in it. I don't even know wha to say about "Vakna Shur'tugal", "Brommson", "Undbitr", "Ressurection" and "Brom" except that they are bogus.
Why don't people actually find some mmore reaons to put down a name other than "I think it might be this because it was a name mentioned once in the book and it might sound good". "Empire" and Eldunari are two good ones because Eldunari will be seen agin and will more than likely play a part in the last book, "Empir" for no other reason that it has been suggested plenty of times before and it does make some sense. Shurikan017 02:18, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
Are we allowed to guess? There are no wrong answers, as the title hasn't come out yet. Besides, some people might think that the titles are brilliant suggestions, while others may not. It depends on your view. --General57Talk to me here 00:48, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
OK I suppose that is true I just wish that people would make assumptions based on more edidence than for Galbatorix "He will be in the final book". Eldunari was a good one all things considered because it had more reasons to back up the assumptions. Just my opinion here but to me that counts as little more than something that should be discussed on a Forum and not on a Wikia where only INFORMATIVE INFORMATION is supposed to go. Shurikan017 03:24, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Excluding names and deciding the most likely.
Im going to stop the idea of a few names that are improbable. First of all: Empire, Wont happen Paolini confirmed it wont be the title. Kuithien, Likely but wont happen Id bet my next pay check. Otherwise the 3rd book would of been called "Menoa" Elduarni is VERY likely, A good title and relates to the story. Galbatorix, Wont happen, Ever. Same with Shurikan or Shur'Tagal.
My idea would be "Fire of Hope" In the ancient language.
R: I think the new title will be something completly new to us as it always is, Eragon for book one because well thats who the rider was but excluding that you have to look at the last two titles. When CP titled eldest it was because Murtaugh ended up being Eragons elder brother it was a surprise to us, then with Brisngr we wouldnt have thought Eragon would had a sword made for him or made by him technicly because she swore to never make another sword again. So I think the title will be something about the book that will tranpire that we would of never precived possible. So it wont be Hatchling or Fire of Hope or the Last Rider because that would give us a clue as to what would happen in the book.
Couldn't the name be arên after Brom's ring? If the name is an inheritance, like it should be, wouldn't it make sense to call it Arên? Brom is Eragon's father and all that Eragon has from him is the memory, which can't be the titel and arên. There is also the possibility that hrothgar or Oromis left something for Eragon, but Hrothgar's at least should already have been revealed. Arên has a massive amouth of energy stored in it, at least 20 years worth of Brom's power. And since it is unknown when Brom recieved Arên we can speculate some of the elves, perhaps his dragons and even more years energy from him. The titel Elduarni seems good, but Eragon cannot inherit them, unless you count Glaedr's. Kuthien is likewise impossible unless you say that he "Inherited the energy" I don't find it likely. "Fire of Hope" In the ancient language is another impossibility. A lot of those titles I just tried to rule out make good sense, but Unless CP Decides not to name it after something Eragon wil inherit, like he said, they are ruled out.
[edit] Werecat Prediction
the rock of kuithian is the rock that is described by the werecat in book 1 where he says "when your power is insufficient go to the rock of kuithan and speak your name to the vault of souls" this must obviously mean that the place contains power and the only way to make eragon more powerfull is eldunari I believe this is the wild dragons store of eldunari mentioned by glader in book 3 and is in the haardac desert
R: I believe it will contain some sort of power source and most likely Elunari but it cant be the place mentioned by Glader in book three because that place was well known and later they say it was their lack of security and sense of comfort that allowed Galbi to infiltrate that place and take the hearts of hearts
[edit] Thoughts on Book IV
TITLE
Christopher Paolini confirmed that the title would be an inheritance of Eragon's and as of right now in the series Eragon doesn't have many. I think the title of Book IV could be Aren because many have speculated it is the key to open the vault of souls. Aren also contains so much energy that it could be useful in Eragon's quest to defeat Galbatorix. It may give Eragon just the right amount of energy to cast that final blow. Or the title could be Naegling. Eragon could inherit Naegling from Oromis. Why would Christopher Paolini write 5 pages about Naegling and its immense amount of energy ("enough to move a mountain" as said in Brisingr) only to have Naegling be lost in battle a few pages later? Perhaps Eragon will use the energy in Naegling to defeat Galbatorix or open the vault of souls.
ROCK OF KUTHIAN/ VAULT OF SOULS
Some have speculated that the rock of Kuthian could be the forest of stone Orik took Eragon too. If that is so, he could "move a mountain" with Naegling and open the vault of of souls by speaking his true name. As far as what is in the vault of souls, I think it is most likely a hidden deposit of Eldunari. In Brisingr there is a part where an injured man from battle tells Eragon about a vision of his, in which Eragon shines like the sun and so does Murtagh, but Murtagh's light comes from elsewhere. In this case, Eragon could keep his own light by being backed by the Eldunari. Galbatorix enslaved the Eldunari and forced them to give their power to Murtagh, but the Eldunari from the vault of souls would willingly help Eragon, keeping his light his own.
NEW RIDER
As far as the new rider goes, I really hope it is Arya but I think it is unlikely. I think this because Christopher Paolini once said "the new Rider will be logical, but will still surprise some people." I think that Arya is just too obvious. All the clues lead to Arya, so how is that a surprise? I think that if you evaluate the text, you will see that there are other logical characters to fill in the role of the new rider. For example, Queen Islanzadi makes sense. Also, although they played a very small role in Brisingr, one of the elf children who watched Eragon forge his sword, Brisingr. It says in Brisingr that elf children are the most powerful and promising of elves, and that those are the only children in Ellesmera. Why would Paolini go through the time to write about them if they would not play role in Book IV? Other logical characters include, believe it or not, Angela, Vanir, and perhaps one of the spell-casters assigned by Islanzadi to protect Eragon. As far as the Rider's duty... I think that the new Rider will take on Thorn and Murtagh while Eragon moves on to face Galbatorix.
THORN AND MURTAGH
I really don't have any proof as to what will happen to them, because Christopher Paolini has kept their role VERY vague. I will speculate though that the new Rider may kill Thorn, letting Murtagh change his true name and join the Varden. Perhaps, which I think is the more likely, both Thorn and Murtagh will be killed. I think Christopher Paolini, in this case, would have hinted at Thorn and Murtagh being able to change their true names just to add in mystery to the characters vague role. The third option, the most unlikely in my opinion, is that both Thorn and Murtagh will change their true name and join the Varden. Support for this being an unlikely scenario can be found in the Varden's total disdain for Thorn and Murtagh. It is doubtful the Varden would accept Thorn and Murtagh. However, this could mean that Torn and Murtagh would act on their own, trying to slay Galbatorix on their own without the support of the Varden. Whatever the case, I believe we can see one of the two, either Thorn or Murtagh, dying.
TENGA
I think that Tenga will play a role in Book IV. And by a role, I mean, a nicely-sized role. I'm not saying he'll have a lot of page time, but whatever amount of time he is in the book I think will be significant. Tenga almost undoubtedly is searching for how to use fire/light as an energy source for magic. He continually says in Brisingr that "all will thank me!" Perhaps Christopher Paolini is foreshadowing that Eragon will learn from Tenga how to draw energy from the sun or any other source of light. Oromis said in Brisingr that if Eragon learned how to do so he could defeat Galbatorix in an instant. Defeating Galbatorix through Tenga's method would mean that all would thank Tenga. A seperate idea, perhaps Tenga is a descendant of the Grey Folk. I find this quite likely, don't you?
REVIEW
I think the title could be Aren or Naegling because they are possibly the only inheritances Eragon will get. The energy from Aren, Naegling, or both could be used to open the Rock of Kuthian giving Eragon access to the vault of souls. I beileve the vault of souls may contain Eldunari to help Eragon or the new rider. The new Rider could possibly be Arya, but I believe it is not likely because it is to obvious. Whatever the case is, I think the new rider will be influential in defeating Thorn and Murtagh, or helping Thron and Murtagh join the Varden by changing their true names. I think that Tenga will teach Eragon how to harness energy from fire and light giving Eragon an immeasurable advantage over Galbatorix in the final battle. In the end, I believe that Eragon will be successful in overthrowing Galbatorix and that Nasuada or Roran will become the Empire's new leader. I believe that the elves will return to Du Weldenvarden and the dwarves will return to the Beors. Surda will rejoin the Empire because of their new leadership. As for Eragon's dream at the beginning of Eragon, I believe the possibilities are endless, but I believe one of the people on the boat will be Eragon and one of the dragons Saphira. I don't know where they are going. We will just have to wait. We will wait....... for BOOK IV!!!

[edit] New Rider
I think that out of all of the possibilities of the new rider, elva would be the most likley. She could tell eragon how to separate the eldunari from galbatorix and defeat him, and she could help him in his quest for his true name to open the vault of souls which contain eldunari. Arya will not be the new rider it is to obvious and she already told eragon she would never be with him. Roran is a likley possibility because he could play a part in defeating galbatorix and there for fulfilling his oath to katrina for her to return to palancar valley.
I think the new rider has to be an elf or else they wont have enough strength to make a significant differnence in the final battle . That being said there arent many elves already mentioned so three possible new riders are arya of course vanir or islanzadi

Sloan. It's partly logical, and it will surprise lots. I don't want that to happen, but its a high possibility. 74.160.165.6 21:43, September 15, 2009 (UTC)
It wouldnt be sloan! He dosent have any of the aspects of any sought of rider, bad or good! It wouldnt be Roran, he dosent quite suit the role, he is fine as a mortal warrior WITHOUT magic... But mabey rorans child. Think about it, Brom: Eragon's father, Eragon: Roran's cousin, And the child: Roran's offspring. The best two riders were related, but eragon a generation under. Brom, Eragon, then A child for certain!
[edit] Vault of Souls
WARNING!! PLAUSIBLE HUGE SPOILER!! -continue reading if you don't care-
I've read everyone's ideas, speculations, and predictions about this subject that will appear in book four of the Inheritance Cycle. All of them have some sort of plausibility of occuring, but there is one thing I would like to point out that might, just might change your minds...
Okay, so I was rereading the first book, Eragon, and found something in the chapter, "Diamond Tomb" that caught my attention immediately. Twice, Paolini refers to Brom's tomb/burial site as a vault. Once, as the sandstone vault, and secondly as the gemstone vault.
I think it's quite possible that Paolini was literally refering to the Vault of Souls. Just think about it. Don't you think Brom would have at least some of the Eldunari of the Forsworn's dragons he killed prior to Eragon's discovery of Saphira's egg?
I don't think Paolini would specifically use the word "vault" twice if he actually meant something with it. I mean, Paolini is a gifted writer. I wouldn't think it to be just a major "coincidence" now do you? ...didn't think so.
Just thought I'd share that.
If I'm right, sorry I ruined somethin for ya :P

Do you have any comments or questions about my idea? Feel free to share below this line:
R: I dont think thats probable, its possible but highly unlikely to me. For one the mountian range that Brom was burriud on would of been known to Orimis and Glaedr as the rock of Kuthain, which I believe to be a legend of some sort ands location was lost with time. Also if Brom would of known about the heart of hearts I think he would of used them, Orimis says that only the oldest of dragon riders knew of them, and whens Brom's dragon died he was still quite young.
Just throwing it out there, maybe the reason for speaking "Eragon" to the Vault of Souls is because the first rider was the Elf, Eragon. It also might mean that the souls of desceased riders, the elf Eragon among them, reside there, and when Eragon speaks his name to open it, he will go inside and the past riders will grant him their power and wisdom to destroy Galbitorix. Also, above in "werecat prediction" it talks about how the wild dragons stored their Eldunari there, I think this is also possible.
i think that "kuthian" is one of the forsworns eldunari because nobody can seem to recall the details of what the rock of kuthian is. but it rings a bell lol thoughts

I thank chris for writting such a fantastic story for all to read and enjoy. thanks from Joyce Mcdonald I love ergon and his draggan sofi i call her.
[edit] Eragon + Arya?
Will Arya ever give in to Eragon's love for her? In my opinion it wouldn't be right if the series ended and Eragon still hadn't claimed Arya as his own. I couldn't be more certain that Eragon marries in the end, and who would be more fitting than Arya? Eragon in the past 3 books has made it clear he has feelings for her, but Arya broke poor Eragon's heart. Yet still Eragon persists to build a relation ship with the elf. I mean, after all the deeds he has done for the varden, dwarfs and elves, dont you think he atleast dserves the girl he loves? Please give you thoughts on this subject. Eragon Deserves her!
