Slaver

A slaver was an individual who hunted and sold beings, such as humans, elves, dwarves, urgals and dragons. During the era of the Dragon Riders, the slave trade was illegal, a policy enforced by the Riders themselves. After the rise of the Empire, however, the slave trade grew rapidly, as the Empire not only allowed the trade but participated in it. Some slavers, such as Torkenbrand, hunted in areas like the Beor Mountains.

While searching for the Ra'zac in Dras-Leona, Eragon found people selling slaves in an alley and vowed to stop it.

While trying to get to the Varden and outrunning the Urgals, Eragon and Murtagh were found by slavers, led by Torkenbrand. The slavers conversed with them and found Arya,they where about to take them away and make them slaves, but Saphira showed up and scared them away. But, in the hurry to get away, Torkenbrand was hit in the temple with a javelin. Afterwards, Murtagh cut his head off, starting an argument between Eragon and himself.
