Sabrae was a female human member of the Council of Elders. She was described by Eragon to be a woman with close-set eyes and elaborately painted cheeks. She wore perfume that was thick and oily, and reminded Eragon of a rotting flower.

Sabrae and the others in the council, Jörmundur, Umérth, Falberd and Elessari, wanted Nasuada to be the new leader of the Varden.
