In Eldest, Eragon Shadeslayer, Arya, Orik and some elves travel to Silthrim before going to Elesmera. Near Silthrim, Murtagh tried to scry Eragon but was blocked by Eragon's amulet,given to him by Gannel, chief of Durgrimst Quan, who was ordered by King Hrothgar to cast a spell on an amulet to guard Eragon from Galbatorix's scryers.
