Riddle contest

A riddle contest was an annual event in Carvahall where participants were challenged to answer a series of riddles. Eragon Shadeslayer was said to always place very low in the rankings because he thought things too literally.

Saphira would try to engage Eragon in a riddle contest, but he would not excel at it.

Saphira and Orik went back and forth with their riddles on their flight from Ellesméra.

Most races in Alagaësia valued riddles in some form or another. Elves prized Orik's creation at the blood oath celebration. It was a puzzle box of wood, which is a riddle in a different matter.
