The Ramr River was the main river in the western half of Alagaësia. Its name means strong river. It started near Gil'ead at the lake Isenstar and continued south, passing Bullridge and Urû'baen.

Eragon, Murtagh, Saphira, Arya, Tornac and Snowfire forded the Ramr River to reach the edge of the Hadarac Desert while avoiding the Imperial Army during their journey to the Varden in the Beor Mountains.
