Jiet River

The Jiet River was a river located on the western border of Surda in southern Alagaësia. The Empire used it as an invasion route into Surda just prior to The Battle of The Burning Plains, which took place right next to it. It is also the place where Roran and the rest of Carvahall meet with Eragon during the battle at the end of Eldest. It is said to look like "the milk of some beast" and reflects many colors. According to Saphira, the air is cooler over the Jiet River than over the land surrounding it. It flows out of Leona Lake by Belatona down through the southern Empire until it reaches Surda. Dauth is located on it.
