1983 Edit

  • November 17 - Christopher Paolini is born.

2002 Edit

2003 Edit

  • August 26 - Knopf edition of Eragon released in hardcover.

2004 Edit

  • January 11 - comes online.
  • August 10 - Publication of Eragon Deluxe Edition. A preview of the next book, Eldest, was included.

2005 Edit

  • April 26 - Eragon released in paperback.
  • August 23 - Publication of Eldest.
  • August 23 - Eldest Audio Cassette released.
  • August 30 - Creation of the Inheritance Cycle Wiki.
  • December - Eldest Audio CD released.

2006 Edit

2007 Edit

  • March 13 - Eldest released in paperback.

2008 Edit

  • January 16 - Announcement of the next book: Brisingr. Title, release date, and cover are revealed. The trilogy becomes a four-book cycle.
  • September 20 - Brisingr publication date for the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.
  • September 21 - Brisingr publication date for Australia and New Zealand.
  • September 25 - Brisingr publication date for Germany.

2009 Edit

  • Eragon's Guide to Alagaësia, an official companion volume to the series, is released.

2010 Edit

  • April 13 - Brisingr paperback release in the USA and Canada (contains a sneak peek of Inheritance in the chapter King Cat).

2011 Edit

  • March 23 - Announcement of the final book: Inheritance. Title, release date, and cover are revealed.
  • November 8 - Inheritance publication date for the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand.
