Gnaevaldrskald was an elven author. His autobiographical work, The Travels of Gnaevaldrskald was a useful source of information on the Urgal culture and was therefore recommended reading for the trainee Dragon Rider Eragon.

Meaning of the name Edit

A skald was a poet in Scandinavia and Iceland during the Viking age.[1]

The section "valdr" can be translated in different ways. In Icelandic, "valdr" means "cause", and "vald" means "power". In Swedish "vald" means "violence" or "to elect".
