Gnaevaldrskald was an elven author. His autobiographical work, The Travels of Gnaevaldrskald was a useful source of information on the Urgal culture and was therefore recommended reading for the trainee Dragon Rider Eragon. Valdr means ruler in the ancient language.

Meaning of the name Edit

A skald was a poet in Scandinavia and Iceland during the Viking age.[1]

The section "valdr" can be translated in different ways. In Icelandic, "valdr" means "cause" and "vald" means "power". In Swedish "vald" means "violence" or "to elect".
