Formora's Dragon was the dragoness hatched and bonded to Formora of the Forsworn. The name of Formora's Dragon is unknown, due to the fact that the dragons banished all of the Forsworn's dragons names (this was known as the Banishing of the Names or Du Namar Aurboda), so all that is known about this dragon is that its color was brown and was small and swift in the air. She took part in the capture of Oromis and Glaedr alongside Formora, Kialandí and Kialandí's dragon. At some point in time, the dragoness and her rider were killed by an unknown cause, although it is possibly she may have been killed by Brom, had her death arranged by Brom or been one of the five dragons of the Forsworn to go mad because of the loss of her name, and thus, her identity.
History[]
At some point in time, this nameless dragoness hatched to a female elf named Formora, choosing the elven girl as her rider, presumably meaning that the dragon and elf had similar personalities.
Before the Banishing of the Names, and by extension, Galbatorix's rise, this dragon and her chosen Rider, along with Formora's twin brother Kialandí and his purple dragon, instigated and enacted a plan to capture two senior members of the Riders, the elf Oromis and his partner Glaedr, and bend them to Galbatorix's will. The plan failed due to the strength of Oromis and the bravery of Glaedr, and during the fighting, Kialandí was impaled and very nearly killed on one of the spikes on his dragon partner's back, only saved by his wards. This incapacitated both for the remainder of the fight, however, Formora and her dragon could follow them and did, catching up to the older part due to the brown dragon's smaller body, making it more swifter. However, aboard her dragon, Formora drew her brightsteel sword, planning to kill Oromis. Fortunately, Glaedr caught sight of Formora and placed his foreleg in the sword's way, causing Formora to slice right through Glaedr's leg back leg, partly disabling him. Ironically, this actually provided Oromis and Glaedr with their escape, though both of them were crippled for life as a result of the struggle. Knowing that the pair would inform Vrael and the rider's of the four's treachery, Formora and her brown returned to Kialandí and his purple and all four returned to inform and warn Galbatorix, now actively fighting as members of the Forsworn.
Soon after, Kialandí was healed, and he, Formora and their feral dragon departed for Vroengard, where they participated in the Fall of the Riders. It is known that Kialandí himself killed at least one Rider, Arva, and it is likely that he and his dragon killed many more and similar battles were fought between Formora on her dragon and other dragon riders and their dragon . When the battle was over, they departed the island, and continued in Galbatorix's service until their deaths.
All of the Forsworn's Dragons were punished by the members of their race in retribution for their treachery, and it is known that Formora's Dragon was no exception. This dragon's name was forgotten, and she slowly lost all that made her unique as an individual. This may drove it mad to the point of death, and may have killed or maddened Formora as well, although it is equally possibly they may have been killed by Brom or had their deaths arranged by Brom.
