The name "Fûthark" bears some similarities to the names for four Runic scripts: the Elder Futhark, Anglo-Saxon Futhorc, Anglo-Frisian Futhorc, and Younger Futhark that were widely used in northern Europe especially in Scandinavia from approximately 100 to 1100 A.D. The term "futhark" stems from the first six runes in the alphabet: f, u, th, a, r and k.
