Eldest (movie)

Eldest is a possible sequel to Eragon. It has been rumored to be released in Spring of 2011; however, this information is currently uncertain. It was assumed that if the Eragon movie did well at the box office that 20th Century Fox would approach Knopf regarding the rights for Eldest. Edward Speleers has stated that he was training up for a second movie, and an unofficial report said something about the movie being filmed which is a good sign for many that Eldest The Movie, will be made. However, Sienna Guillory is playing Resa in the upcoming movie, Inkheart (2008/2009) and Garrett Hedlund is playing Louis in the movie Hectic (2008), so it is possible that they are waiting for "Arya" and "Murtagh" to come back. More information will be posted on this page as it comes in. According to IMDB website, John Malkovich has several movies in the making as well...all with 2008 dates.
Christopher Paolini, although he has expressed appreciation for the first film, has never taken any actual part in making the film. This could help influence the decision of whether or not there will be a sequel or sequels.
When Paolini was asked if there was a chance of making an Eldest movie at the Eragon movie's premiere, he answered, "I think we'll know after the opening weekend."[1]
It was also said in a press release by 20th Century Fox that there will be a feature on the upcoming Eragon DVD called "Just The Beginning" that will give us a "postmortem look at what's to come in the film series".

It was rumored that Edward Speelers is to appear in the next three Inheritance movies, but it's uncertain on when the director will buy the rights for the films.
- Key characters were left out in the Eragon movie. Without these characters, it would be difficult to make an adaption of Eldest that would follow the book's plot. Also, Eragon blessing Elva was left out, although it was filmed and put in the DVD as a deleted scene; as well as Jeod, the merchant who plays a part in Roran's quest later on.
there was also no mention of rorans betrothed, katrina or any other people from carvahall except sloan which would make it difficult to bring it back
and saphira and arya never broke the star saphire
Also the Ra'zac were killed in the Eragon movie, they play a part when they hunt down Saphira and kidnap Katrina from Carvahall. They also play a part in the third book, when Katrina is rescued from Helgrind.
