Elain

Elain is the wife of Horst. She lived in Carvahall, before moving away with the rest of the village. She is a kind woman, with honey blond hair. She loves Horst very much. She travelled with the villagers to Surda, and probably took part in the Battle of the Burning Plains. She was pregnant in Eldest. In Brisingr, Katrina tells Roran that Elain's child might suffer a miscarriage due to the stress of traveling from Carvahall to Surda. She quite often shows signs of pain, including being the first to leave Roran's wedding, pleading pregnancy pains.
